Second grade students need to measure lengths of objects using the appropriate tools. For example, you would not use a ruler to measure a classroom - it would take too long! You would choose a measuring tape instead. Second graders are expected to be able to estimate the length of an item using inches., feet, centimeters and meters. Students also need to be able to measure to determine which object is longer and which is shorter. Click on the links below to learn more about measuring and estimating lengths!
