2.MD.B: Relate addition and subtraction to length.
Students need to use addition and subtraction in word problems involving lengths. For example, students should be able to solve a word problem that adds one number of inches with another number of inches, as long as the total number of inches is less than 100. Students are also expected to understand how to use the number line for addition and subtraction within 100.
